VAT Deferral Scheme

HMRC logo.jpg

If you chose to defer VAT payments between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020, you were due to make the outstanding payment by 31 March 2021.

However, you now have the option to join HMRC's new VAT Deferral Scheme which will allow you to spread the cost of the deferred VAT over the next 11 months without incurring interest.

To join the scheme, you will need to create an HMRC Government Gateway online account (if you don't already have one) as agent's cannot join the scheme on your behalf.

If you are not able to create an HMRC online account, you can join the scheme by calling the HMRC Covid helpline on 0800 024 1222.
